When Neimenster offered Charlotte In red a carte blanche during the summer of 2021, we knew that Berlin-based DJ Koromoto had to be part of our line-up, the more so as our concert happened during Luxembourg’s Pride Week, and Koromoto, as you will discover, is a staunch supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.
Of course we seized the opportunity to sit down with Koromoto, here in Luxembourg, to talk about her career, her love for music, her life in Berlin, her many projects and passions.

Charlotte’s Journey with Koromoto
Koromoto emerged from the darkness of Caracas' nights at the end of the century. Her record collection, innate talent and great curiosity have been her companions for more than 20 years, moving and shaking her various audiences‘ bodies and minds.
Fifteen years ago she was adopted by Berlin, a city syntonizing with her concerns and styles, which she has helped to transform with unstoppable energy. Shows, clubs and festivals in Europe and America have witnessed her infectious sets, both by herself and as part of electronic music and contemporary art collectives. Her artistic expression reflects the rhythmic luminosity of the Caribbean adapted to German techno and acid, with elements of dub hypnotism.
Koromoto is a passionate music collector, producer and DJ, devoted to classic turntables that define analog sound and provide a special way of listening and feeling music. Her love for this format has made her support other adventurous vinyl producers, who strive to achieve distinctive sounds with harmonies and metrics that give their productions a seal of exclusivity and innovation.
